The house, built in 1869, is one of several brick Federal and Italianate structures on the block and a major contributor to the elegant ambience of the area. The 1870 carriage house closes the property off from a side street in the rear of the residence. The exterior features of the building reflect a more refined approach to the Italianate style. A leaded glass transom above the front door can be seen just beyond the Roman portico and heavy, flat stone lintels accent the top of the windows. The Classical Revival porch employs ionic columns that support a wide corniced roof. You will want to reserve time in your busy days for relaxing on this grand porch equipped with a ceiling fan for those warm summer nights. Tables and chairs make this the perfect place for the meals you may wish to bring back to the Inn at the end of your day. www.
